LCG Pressure Cooker

NL - Ik vond de oude script logo MXR Dynacomp en Ross compressors altijd al geweldig klinkende pedalen, maar wel een beetje goedkoop qua uitvoering en zij  ruisten mij iets teveel. Toen ik ontdekte dat de electronicazaak hier om de hoek nog 8 originele RCA CA3080 OTA’s had liggen, kon ik mij niet inhouden:

Ik probeerde een verbeterde versie van de oude Dynacomp en Ross pedalen te maken door gebruik te maken van low noise transistoren, metaalfilmweerstanden , foliecondensatoren en lage ESR elco’s. Rond die magische CA3080.

Ook werd de kwaliteit van de voetscakelaar en jacks opgewaardeerd en werd een true bypass  alsook een effectieve voedingsfilter toegevoegd aan het circuit.

Na nog wat creatief etswerk van de behuizing was de Pressure Cooker een feit.

Eindeloze sustain!

ENG - I always thought the old script logo MXR Dynacomp  compressor was a fantastic effect, but a little noisy.  Also I did not like the fact that it’s not true bypass. When I discovered the electronics store around the corner still had  8 original metal can RCA CA3080 OTA’s I couldn’t help myself:

I set out to try to improve on the original  Dynacomp and Ross units by using  low noise transistors, metal film resistors, high quality film capacitors, low ESR electrolytics around that magical CA3080.  Also added a better footswitch and jacks and adding circuitry for true bypass and an effective  power supply filter.

After some creative etching on the enclosure and the Pressure Cooker was born.
