Burns Flyte
NL - Engeland, 1974-1977
Deze unieke gitaar werd gemodelleerd op de supersonische Concorde. Destijds bespeeld door Marc Bolan van T-Rex en Dave Hill van Slade, waardoor dit instrument met recht een “glamrockfgitaar” genoemd mag worden!
De body is vervaardigd uit (1 stuk) braziliaans mahonie, de hals is uit hard suikeresdoorn met een “ebonized” esdoorn toets. De hals is voorzien van een bindingsrand en dot ineg uit aluminium.
Het houtwerk is destijds gemaakt in de originele Shergold fabriek (gerund door voormalige Burns vakmensen Jack Golder & Norman Houlder en Vox veteraan Bob Pearson) in het londense Harold Wood.
De gitaar heeft twee unieke “Mach One Humbuster” elementen, alsook een “Dynamic tension” brug.
De stemmechannieken zijn de betrouwbare Schaller M6 modellen.
Deze gitaar wordt geleverd inclusief de originele Burns hoes, zie detail foto.
Dit model is in relatief goede staat, maar er is schade geweest aan de kop welk lang geleden is gerepareerd. (geen halsbreuk, maar wel zijdelingse scheurtjes).
De 2 draaiknoppen knoppen zijn niet origineel, maar de typische jaren 80 electronicazaak modellen.
Een vervreemdend, doch legendarisch model en een fantastische player!

This unique guitar was modelled on the supersonic Concorde airchraft. At the time it was adopted by players such as T-Rex’s Marc Bolan and Slade’s Dave Hill, which makes this instrument a genuine Glamrock guitar!
The body is made of a one piece slab of brazilian mahogany, the neck is rock maple with an ebonized maple fingerboard. The fingerboard features aluminium binding and position markers.
The woodwork for this guitar was at the time carried out in the the original Shergold factory (operated by former Burns employees Jack Golder & Norman Houlder, as well as former Vox veteran Bob Pearson) in London’s Harold Wood.
This instrument features two unique “Mach One Humbuster” pickups, as wel as a “dynamic tension” bridge. The tuners are the trustworthy Schaller M6 types.
This guitar is supplied with it’s original Burns gigbag, see detailed photograph.
This model is in relatively good shape, but has suffered some damage to the headstock in the past, that has been repaired long ago. (not a neck crack, but some fractures sideways along the headstock).
The two pot knobs are not the original types, they are typical 1980’s electronics store types.
A rare, legendary model and a fine player!
